Me. Good evening Claude.

Claude.  Good evening, I see you have finally ceased saying, have I anything to say.

Me.  We know you have, don’t we.

Claude.  Yes. I thought tonight I would start on something rather relevant that leads to the time of year. I want to talk about how we have lost the meaning of Christmas and I don’t mean the commercial sense that we are over commercialised, because in a way that is not exactly true, that’s just how we have evolved.

Christmas has always been the time where you brought and consumed, so therefore the degree of sophistication with the selling and the buying has just gone up with the sophistication of the people and the times. So I am not talking about the commercial side and I am not talking about the meaning of Christmas as in the birth of Jesus Christ. We can scant forget that with many television adds that constantly remind us. I’m talking about what we have forgotten spiritually, children still have it and I suppose that’s why we considered Christmas a child’s event. We’ve forgotten how to enjoy it and capture the magic of a time of the year that essentially is like any other time of the year. It’s just another day, just another sunrise and another sunset. But it is a day that humanity has put a specific importance upon, a day that we have set aside to be particularly loving and particularly giving and when I was alive I particularly enjoyed Christmas because of that meaning.

However, as times moved on in my century it used to be family, it used to have adults as well as children singing carols. I do not know what it was like in this country (Australia). I do not know and I would only assume that it would have been the same, it was the era. It was singing around the piano, it was large dinners that the family would get involved in and enjoy creating. But now those dinners are a chore to make, their rushed. You are worried about the money, the costs of buying presents for everyone, will they like it. This is not how it’s supposed to be, your supposed to relax. That’s what love is about it isn’t about stressing.

Try and recapture what it actually means, what this giving time of the year essentially giving all though there is receiving, but if we choose to look at it the right sense, receiving a gift either material or emotional is a gift in itself is giving to the person who gave to you. A positive response can be as important an emotional gift as the material that they have given you and in a sense can be more important. I may even speculate that, that might be how this began, how giving gifts began to stimulate that emotional response.

Humanity thrives on the emotion, why do you think there’s this special little thing in the air around Christmas. There’s that feeling, even as an adult you feel it, you try and deny it, Christmas isn’t like it used to be you will say, but it is. You are trying to repress it because you are grown up now, there’s no Santa Claus. Just because the magic seems to have disappeared doesn’t mean it has, just because you do label it magic anymore doesn’t mean it’s gone, you are just suppressing it, try and let it out. Wear silly hats, sing loudly at the top of your voice whatever brings it out in you let it be felt all around. It would be decidedly pleasant if you could keep this the entire year round, but we will settle for one day if we can.

Christmas is a very spiritual time for all the world of Spirit and for religion and it’s probably the one time of the year that religion becomes the most accepting of everybody else and the most bigoted against, it’s a very unusual time, but keep that in mind.

Spirit is unusually active because of the love as we like to be around it, we like to be in the middle of it, we like to feel it. In a peculiar sense I suppose we could say that we feed off of it. It’s not entirely accurate, but it will do.

Spirit will be all around you and they will protect you greatly during this time of the year. But remember the more that you love, the more protection, the more enjoyment, the more fulfilment you will get.

Thank you.
