Natalie's
Spirit Writings Wednesday the
9th of January 2008
Today we divert somewhat from the
lessons that you have been guided through these past lectures, for today is an
excellent time to bring up a topic I feel relates well to the topic of realizing
your future.
I speak of course of New Year's Resolutions. Yes, Christmas ends and in the gap
between it and the New Year, we are left with time to ponder upon our lives on
how we've lived the past year.
Inevitably, we look to the darker things. Promises broken, undesirable things
we've done. Weight we have gained and habits we wish we didn't have.
This is, of course, where New Years Resolutions come from, for humans are
ordered beings. You need starting points, significant markers and well prepared
plans. However, I know in my life I made many a resolution, and equally, lost
interest in every single one before the New Year was even at its half way point.
So we are left with the puzzling conundrum. HOW does one make a resolution stick
so that one does not end up repeating the same heartfelt vows a year later?
Unfortunately my children it requires commitment. But oh how sorely I know how
that word smarts! I certainly don't expect any of you to simply commit 100% from
this moment on, no, no, that would be asking too much! Your lives are filled
with distractions and such calamity already, commitment often dies out in the
clamour.
There are, thankfully, a few ways of influencing your subconscious mind into
doing the work for you.
I see you are already comfortably seated in front of your computer. Excellent,
now open up a Word document, a nice new one. Write down your resolutions. Be
greedy and write down everything, but please keep it simple. "Lose weight" is
simple "be a famous rock singer" is not.
Make the words HUGE and press your print button. Press it a few times and as
with your life plan, stick it up in places you shall see it. Be inventive.
The toilet door for example is excellent and so is somewhere near your
television set. This will make you read it several times a day, in fact, soon
you will memorize it and simply glancing at it will conjure up the words.
Perhaps you're feeling a little sceptical. You look at your words and really
don't feel inspired by them. Do not concern yourself; my aim is not to inspire
you, but to get those words implanted in your subconscious.
Next, open a new Word document... we need to make a list. You need to make an
"at least" list.
Find all the resolutions that go together, such as "lose weight", "get fit"
"quit smoking" and "drink more water" (which is most important!) Then make a
list of the LEAST you should be doing per week to achieve this – example.
Healthier me: Get at LEAST____ per week.
3 half hour walks
1 swimming session
8 glasses of water a day
2 stretching sessions
1 less cigarette
You may not keep to this list, but it's a nice formatted goal list to keep track
of how much you are doing, and you are welcome to do more then listed.
Do this procedure to all your resolutions. Make it nice and attractive and stick
it next to your calendar. If you achieve your goal, place a tick at the end of
the week, if you do not, a little x.
Most importantly of all is to not give up, even if, after three months, you have
all little “x”, KEEP GOING. Don’t tear it up and throw it in the bin, keep
going, for even the little bit you DO manage is a little bit more towards your
goal.
But finally, act as if you have already achieved your goal. You want to be a
tidier person? then pretend you already are a tidy person, I don't care if you
need to pretend to be another person or character, or if it means you have to
talk to yourself constantly - just do it, you'll be amazed at how much it
helps!
Peace and harmony to all my fine readers, and have a very enjoyable New Year.
Guy's behaviour was not at all appropriate. Claude has indeed taken measures and
he is forthwith removed until he shows commitment. I shall replace him.
My name is Humphrey - one of six in our local during my stint on the Earth
plane. I am a scholar and a gentleman and I most certainly will not treat a fine
young lady (Natalie) with the disrespect my predecessor showed, nor you, my
learned friend. Be assured your sought after lectures will mostly flow quick and
fast, young Terence!
Terence.
I wish to speak to you and all people reading about this New Year. I wish to
bring hope, it is 2008. For those who study the numbers, this is numerologically
a Year 1, the first of the new millennium. It is the year of beginnings, of
change.
The world is changing as we speak. I know many people have felt the wind of
change for years now.
This year will bring many good things for those who dare to step into a brave
new world. Remember, it is the year of BEGINNINGS.
Asa.
