THE HISTORY OF NUMEROLOGY

It is written, that Numerology is an ancient art, and there is evidence that it was used some thousands of years ago in Rome, China, Egypt, and Greece, long before "Pythagoras", one of our greatest philosophers.

Pythagoras, one of the greatest philosophers of ancient Europe, is generally accepted as the founder of the Science of Numbers. He was born about the year 590 B.C., and was named by the Oracle of Delphi who, it is said, prophesied his birth.

When he was a young child he was placed in one of the Temples and grew up in a very spiritual environment. He learned the lesson of meditation and developed a great love of the stars. He is credited with having the idea that the world is a sphere or a round ball.

Very little of his early life is recorded, but it is reported he won prizes for feats of agility at the Olympic Games, that he was tall, beautiful, magnetic, dynamic, and everyone loved him. It is also written that he was given a new name, and after many initiations he was called Yarancharya, using the letter "Y", a symbol he considered very mystical.

He established a school of learning at Crotona, which was the center of culture of that day and where for nearly forty years he taught his pupils and exhibited his wonderful powers. His teachings, for the most part, were given in secret, and no student was allowed to put into writing any idea or subject given in the school. As far as is known, no one broke this rule until after his death, and for this reason his teachings were almost lost to the modern world.

His teachings were taken up by Plato and they were then reinforced by the Jewish Kabala. Early Christian scholars, such as St. Augustine, helped lead the way to the widespread use of Numerology during the Renaissance, and at that time Numerology was accepted by most people.

There are two phases to his teachings, they are , The Science of Numbers, and the Theory of Magnitude. The first division included two branches, arithmetic and musical harmony, the second, geometry and magnitude in motion or astronomy. Pythagoras taught his students an exact mathematical precision. "The principles governing the numbers were understood to be the principles of real existence, the elements of numbers were the elements of realities". His instructions were given according to the law of mathematics and "this relationship of numbers to experience" is the divine law, the foundation of the modern system of analysis called "NUMEROLOGY"

Numerology is on the same par as The Tarot, Astrology, The I Ching, and some of the other arts of the occult, always remember "Only you can better yourself", you were born on a date, and given your name, it is yours and believe me there is no one that can change it, not even you.

Here are a few samples of how you can work out your own birth number:

FOR AN EXAMPLE THE DATE OF BIRTH IS 10 - 1 - 1943

Now add together the complete date of BIRTH  which is 10 - 1 - 1943 in this way only.

THE DAY which is 10 = 1 + 0 = 1

  THE MONTH which is 1 = 1

  THE YEAR which is 1943 equals to 1 + 9 + 4 + 3 = 17 = 1 + 7 = 8

so the 1 day plus the 1 month plus the 8 year = 1 + 1 + 8 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1

THEREFORE THE BIRTH NUMBER BECOMES A NUMBER ONE.

FOR AN EXAMPLE THE DATE OF BIRTH IS 12 - 2 - 1943

Now add together the complete date of BIRTH  which is 12 - 2 - 1943

  THE DAY which is 12 = 1 + 2 = 3

  THE MONTH which is 2 = 2

  THE YEAR which is 1943 equals to 1 + 9 + 4 + 3 = 17 = 1 + 7 = 8

so the 3 day plus the 2 month plus the 8 year = 3 + 2 + 8 = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4

THEREFORE THE BIRTH NUMBER BECOMES A NUMBER FOUR

Now there are two master numbers which are 11 and 22. These two numbers are calculated a little bit different and that is when you are adding the numbers together, if the number adds up to 11 or 22 then that is when you stop because that number has become a master number. Therefore you do not add the two ones in the number 11 or the two twos in the number 22.

FOR AN EXAMPLE THE DATE OF BIRTH IS 2 - 1 - 1943

  The calculation will be as follows:- and remember, because the eleven is a master number it is not reduced to a single digit number as other numbers are.  Now add together the complete date of;

  BIRTH  which is 2 - 1 - 1943

  THE DAY which is 2 = 2

  THE MONTH which is 1 = 1

  THE YEAR which is 1943 equals to 1 + 9 + 4 + 3 = 17 = 1 + 7 = 8

so the 2 day plus the 1 month plus the 8 year = 2 + 1 + 8 = 11 this number is not reduced any further because it is a Master number.

THEREFORE THE BIRTH NUMBER BECOMES A NUMBER ELEVEN

FOR AN EXAMPLE THE DATE OF BIRTH IS 29 -12 - 1943

The calculation will be as follows:- and always remember, because the eleven and twenty-two are master numbers, they are not reduced to a single digit number as the others are.

Now add together the complete date of BIRTH  which is 29 - 12 - 1943

  THE DAY which is 29 = 2 + 9 = 11

  THE MONTH which is 12 = 1 + 2 = 3

  THE YEAR which is 1943 equals to 1 + 9 + 4 + 3 = 17 = 1 + 7 = 8

so the 11 day plus the 3 month plus the 8 year = 11 + 3 + 8 = 22 this number is not reduced any further because it is a Master number.

THEREFORE THE BIRTH NUMBER BECOMES A NUMBER TWENTY-TWO
