Meditation for the beginner without emptying your mind

Meditation in it’s Simple and Proper Form. What it can do for you, and yes, it is easy.

Chapter 1:

First of all I would like to make one very important statement on meditation. I have read and also heard from people who teach meditation that you must empty your mind before you can meditate. In my research and now ultimately in my considered opinion to empty your mind is a virtual impossibility. I have yet to find anyone, that can create that particular phenomena. In this day and age with the worries and anxieties that the average person carries around with them on a day to day basis, to be able to empty the mind is an impossibility. Therefore, for the person who would wish to be able to meditate, will not, because they know that they cannot empty their mind.

When a meditation teacher makes the statement, that you have to empty your mind before meditating, that teacher has then, just lost a student. This is because of the students attitude of mind. That student would then have to ask, how can you empty your conscious mind with your everyday living problems. The meditation teacher will then normally respond by saying, with that all knowing smile on their face, (which has a tendency to irritate me personally) "that to empty your mind will only come through lots and lots of practice". Or the teacher will bypass the students question, or answer the students question, with another question.

I personally will respond to that particular statement by saying this. As long as you have a tremendous amount of patience, which most of us have not, and you are some sort of guru, which you are not, then maybe, and I do mean just maybe you will then be able to empty your conscious mind. But I do know one thing, and that is, that for me personally, I cannot empty my conscious mind when I meditate, and believe me, I do successfully meditate.

I would like you to understand one very important thing, and that is, the only way you can stop your conscious mind from working, is to go to sleep, or to be unconscious, or you are not of this earth plane in the conscious sense. Because the conscious mind never, ever stops working while you are awake. For the one who wishes to learn the art of meditating, then I will encourage you to do this one very important thing, and that is, to fill your conscious mind with one particular thought, as you would, when you fill a jug of water from a tap. It is that easy.

First I will teach you how to do a light meditation on what is called your Chakra’s. Now you may say what is the Chakra's. These Chakra's are your very own energy centers, your life centers if you like. There are seven of them that go in a straight line from the top of your head down to the base of your spine. These chakra centers are just in front of your spine and they have the same colors as the seven colors of the rainbow, they also have the same seven musical notes as in what is termed as an octave of music, and each chakra has its own emotions. Also, each chakra has its own crystal stone that is associated with it as well.

Because of the stress and anxiety of your modern every day living, it causes your energy centers (Chakra’s) to go out of alignment. Now this is what stops your body and mind from completely coping with all of the stress, anger, anxiety and sickness in your world today. But once your chakra centers have been aligned in the proper manner, and that can only be achieved through a chakra meditation, then you as a person will then become complete. You will then have a lot more control of what is termed as your seven levels of consciousness. What that means to you is, that you as a person will have a great deal more control over what goes on within your own mind and your own body. What a powerful statement that is. My friend, that is how simple it is.

Do not empty your mind, instead just fill your mind with a thought.

Just look at it like this. If you have an electrical appliance, let us say a washing machine. Now you have to switch it on at the power switch on the wall. Then you have to fill it with hot and cold water. Then you have to set the particular type of wash that you want, and with your washing in the machine, then you put your washing powder in, then you set the washing machine in motion. There you have seven different operations for your washing to be successfully washed. If one of those seven operations, or even all of them were not to work properly, then you have chaos with your washing. This is the same as your very own Chakra's. If they are not in their proper alignment, then your body cannot operate as it should. It’s that simple. I will show you how to meditate so that you can then bring order back into your mind and body, so that you can have more control.

The art of meditation really comes from ancient Asia, the Chinese, Indian, Japanese etc. It is through these ancient cultures that the art of meditation has become one of the most health giving forms of life itself. Meditation will bring to you the peace and tranquility of your very own life. It will also help to bring to you the riches of what your very own life is looking for. But it seems, that due to the western world, the western attitudes, possibly jealousies and being secretive as well, that the proper art of meditation seems to have lost its way. I am now about to change all that.

Meditation will bring you closer to your own spirit, because my friend you are spirit and spirit is you. Meditation will make you become, that much better person. A person with wisdom and knowledge, because meditation will actually relax your body and mind, and help to remove the anxieties, tension, anger and some sickness that is around you. You will find that you will easily be able to cope a lot better with your everyday problems when you meditate on a regular basis. Sometimes, if you are looking for answers to a particular problem in your life, I have found that through meditation, I have found the answers. Not immediately of course, but because meditation brings you closer to your own spirit and also your own guardian spirit, or if you prefer your own guardian angel, depending on what terminology you prefer to call your own guardian. You will find that once you start to meditate on a regular basis that help is closer to you than you imagined. One more thing to remember. You do not have to meditate at a particular time, any time will do. Fifteen to twenty minutes a day, five times a week will suffice.

 

Chapter 2:

But first let us look at the meanings, the colors, the crystals and the musical notes that are associated with the Chakra's and also the positions of the seven Chakra's in your physical body. Please note the position of each chakra on each diagram. You will find that I have also given the meanings of the crystal stones that are associated with their relevant Chakra's as well. This can be a bonus if you have a problem in that particular area of the body. It all depends on how you are with positive thinking.

The First Chakra:

This is called the Base Chakra which is situated at the very base of the spine. It has the color of dark red and brown, the crystal stone is smoky quartz and it has the musical note of "C". The smoky quartz crystal stone can help with your emotional or mental problems that may seem to drain your energy from time to time. It can also help to bring back the enthusiasm into your life. This is the chakra that is associated with the earth that we are used to. This is the chakra that grounds you, because it is closer to the earth than the others. This chakra controls all the emotions of fear. When you meditate on this chakra you actually balance the physical body with the mental body, therefore helping to control those fears. This chakra has control over the kidneys and the adrenal system. The activation of this chakra will help to release the tension that can sit in the spine. But there is a warning with this particular chakra. In the spiritualist’s circles, this is the chakra that controls what is termed as the Condoleni, and it must never be completely opened unless you are an expert or an adept in what is called deep meditation. This type of meditation is for the complete adept or the expert deep trance mediums who have gone from light meditation through to medium meditation and ultimately into deep meditation. This is the medium who can allow the spiritual side of their life to come forward. At your level at the moment, definitely not for you just yet, and do not worry, you will not be able to completely open this chakra, even by accident. It takes a lot of experience and knowledge.

The Second Chakra:

This is what is called as the sacral (spleen) chakra or the sexual chakra, and it is situated between the base of your spine and your naval, just above the sexual organ area and its color is orange, the crystal stone is carnelian and it has the musical note of "D". The carnelian crystal stone can help to activate and revitalize you, and can be a good aid where lethargy is concerned. This chakra is associated with the sexual organs of the male and female body and deals with all personal relationships and also all types of creativity. This is the chakra that develops your sexuality and your creativity. It deals with all the fluids of the body, the diseases of the blood and the reproductive organs of your body. When you meditate on this chakra you will find that you will release all tension where sex is concerned, and your creativity will know no boundaries. Especially if you are involved in some sort of artistic work. Because of the obvious statement that the sexual organs can create life, therefore this chakra also creates. All people have some form of creative talent, and in this chakra, this energy center is where the creativity can start.

 The Third Chakra:

This is the solar plexus chakra which deals with all your personal feelings, its color is yellow the crystal stone is green aventurine and it has the musical note of "E". The green aventurine crystal stone can help to be an all round healer where your physical and mental body is concerned. This chakra is associated with the problems of the spleen, the liver, the stomach, the pancreas and the gall bladder and it is concerned with all problems due to the emotions and sensitivity. It is within this chakra that you carry anger and rage, all problems concerning your mental safety and your personal feelings. This chakra is what can be termed as the power house of all your emotions. Because this chakra is the center of all emotions it can also cause more troubles than any of the other chakras as well. This is due to the fact that all emotion must go through this particular chakra. If emotions are not balanced properly, then it can cause all types of problems concerning the stomach area such as ulcers and the like, and naturally can cause problems with your nervous system and can also create confusion with your mental capabilities as well. This chakra is also where the true spiritualist’s consider, that what they call the akeshic records, which are said to be, (every thought, whether good or bad, and all of the physical deeds, good or bad, of all the physical lives that your very own spirit has been through whilst being on this earth plane, whilst your own spirit is attaining perfection) are safely stored. That to me is a very strong statement to make, but it is worth remembering that we should all be aware of our thoughts and deeds to others whilst we are living on this particular earth plane.

The Fourth Chakra:

This is the heart chakra and deals with all attitudes of love and harmony and its color is pink, the crystal stone is rose quartz, and it has the musical note of "F". The rose quartz crystal stone will always help with self healing and it does help in creating a loving atmosphere as well. I personally have always classed the rose quartz crystal stone as one of the most important crystals that we as human beings can rely upon. The reason for this is because the crystal stone emanates the wonderful rays of love. Is it not true to say, that without love within our world, then this world would be a very miserable world to live in. This chakra controls the heart, the blood stream and the circularity system. This is the chakra that you use when you fall in love, not physical lust, but the emotion of love. It is through this chakra that helps you to decide on how harmonious you are going to be in your relationships with others. This is the chakra that you will feel emotion and physical love, and when you do, then you will push the emotion and the physical love through to the emotional chakra and then push the physical emotion through to the sexual chakra and then finally push the remaining emotion through to the base chakra which will then eventually ground and settle you down.

The Fifth Chakra:

This is the throat chakra and deals with communication, expression and judgment. It has the color of blue, the crystal stone is blue lace agate and it has the musical note of "G". The blue lace agate crystal stone will help with expressing how you feel. In other words to help clear and clarify the way you wish to communicate. This chakra controls the vocal chords, the thyroid gland and the bronchial system. This chakra can sometimes be the most important of all the chakras. Because it controls the thyroid gland, and it is this particular gland that has complete jurisdiction over the entire body. If the gland is not operating properly then it can create all sorts of very bad sickness. When in an activating mode, this particular chakra, through your meditations, will then be dealing with the frustration’s within your communications that you will have to resolve. It is with this chakra that you will question the wisdom of your self expression when it is concerned with your judgment of others. When you meditate on this chakra, your throat chakra, you will find that your voice will become a lot clearer and more fuller in depth, with the sincerity of life itself..

The Sixth Chakra:

This is the third eye chakra and it is seated just above the center of your two eye brows and deals with your inner vision, your dreams and how your spirituality affects your everyday life. It has the color of indigo which is a mixture of blue and red, the crystal stone is amethyst and it has the musical note of "A". The amethyst crystal stone will help to create stability in your stressful times. It can also help stimulate spiritual awareness. What you want and what you can see, also what your insight see’s, comes through this chakra. It also controls the pituitary glands. The experts on mystic thought and also some spiritualists say that if you can take control of this chakra then the world can become your oyster. It is through this chakra that your all seeing clairvoyance comes from. Your dreams of what you want for yourself and the welfare of others close to you also comes through this chakra.

The Seventh Chakra:

This is the crown chakra, or the crowning chakra of all the chakra’s. It is the receptive of all the chakra’s and is positioned on the crown of your head. This is the chakra which creates the understanding between you and the Astral plane (the spirit world). It has the color of violet, the crystal stone is clear quartz and it has the musical note of "B". The clear quartz crystal stone is sometimes called the stone of the white light, because this is the stone that incorporates all the seven colors of the rainbow. This stone will help to magnify your positive attitudes. But do not use this crystal stone if you are depressed in any way, because if you do, then the stone can magnify your depressed attitudes. It is with this chakra that translates your own destiny into your own thoughts. What are you doing here on this earth, are you accomplishing what you should be accomplishing. It is here where through your development into the psychic side of life, that you will begin to see the future. The organs that are associated with this chakra are the pituitary glands and the pineal glands. Sometimes this chakra is shown as a lotus flower, this flower means peace and the end result of the crown chakra for you should mean peace of mind in body and spirit. It is what I would call the very life force of your own spirit. It is the crown chakra, or what is shown and called as the lotus flower. Through the evolution of your spirit, which takes many, many lifetimes on this earth plane, as your spirit gains perfection through these lifetimes, so the lotus flower opens up more. When the lotus is completely opened, then your spirit has attained perfection. It is only then that your spirit can then go to the next higher plane, which is called the mental plane.

 

Just for an added piece of information. There are seven planes of existence, and I have taken the liberty of explaining these seven planes of existence in the lecture room.

 

Chapter 3:

When all of your seven chakra centers are completely lined up in their correct order, you will then find that your well being will start to improve, because you have become what is called as "balanced". That is to say that your chakra’s are now working as they should and your perceptions of life will now dramatically improve, even your attitudes on your own health and welfare will change for the better. You have now started to take control of yourself.

This chakra meditation will teach your whole body and mind how to completely relax and how to remove the stress and the anxiety of everyday living that you are experiencing. Once you have learnt the art of meditating with your chakra’s, then my friend your life will enter a new phase. You will be able to say that you have become re-born in this world that you live in. You will also find that you will be able to control some illnesses and disease by this method of meditating.

First of all, you must find a room where you can meditate in peace, now that might not be so easy for some people who have a family. My friend with a little bit of training on yourself and your family you will find that room and the time to meditate in peace away from your family.

Second, you must dress in something that is very comfortable for you, something that does not restrict you in any way whatsoever, because you must not be conscious of any physical discomfort regarding what you are wearing.

Third, You will need some very light pleasant flowey music with no singing or toe tapping beat to it, and there is plenty of meditating music that you can buy from your local record store.

Now you will need something to sit on. Now this will depend on you, anyway here are some suggestions. If you use a chair, then find a comfortable chair where you can sit in an upright comfortable position so that your feet can easily touch the floor. With this position you must not cross your hands, arms or your legs or your feet. You are sitting comfortably with the palms of your hands facing upwards in your lap. The reason for not crossing your arms and legs etc. is because you are not shutting out any energies and the reason for your palms facing upwards is because you are accepting what is being given.

If you prefer to sit on the floor then do so, I would suggest that you are able to sit upright in a comfortable position with your back against the wall and also make sure that you are sitting on a cushion or something soft as the floor will make you uncomfortable in a very short while. When meditating in this position you should have your legs out but not crossed. Your hands should be palm upwards but resting on your legs.

For a person that cannot sit due to a physical problem, then lying on a firm bed will be permitted, and again do not cross any part of your body, and have the palms of your hands facing upwards.

Whatever position you prefer to use, the main aim is for your body to be completely comfortable, this is very, very important for you to achieve. I would prefer you to experiment until you can find where you can be most comfortable. When you have achieved the comfortable position then switch on your meditating music, and have the volume down so you can just hear it.

 

Chapter 4:

Now close your eyes comfortably and gently and start to relax and become aware of your breathing. I want you to take control of your breathing, and in a comfortable way I would like you to breathe slowly and deeply, but not too deep that you feel uncomfortable. Remember it is very important when meditating that you always feel relaxed and comfortable.

Now you will start to relax your body in comfortable gradual stages. This will take just a few minutes but it is very important that you do this. It is what I would call the preliminary stage of meditation and in some ways the most important, because how can you meditate when your body is tense.

Now in this order I want you to say to yourself that you are now going to relax your body. Now mentally focus your mind on to your feet, and say to yourself that your toes and feet are now relaxing and they are not aching. Then mentally focus on the ankles and say to yourself that your ankles are now relaxed. Then go to the calves of your legs and say to yourself that your calves are now relaxed. Now you do this to each part of your body. From your calves you then go to your knees, from your knees to your thighs, from your thighs to your hips, from your hips to your torso (the upper part of your body), from your torso to your shoulders, then your arms, then your wrists, then your hands and your fingers and thumbs, then your neck, then your face, but with your face you say to yourself that it has now become supple and all tension has gone. By the time that you have done this your body will be in a relaxed state. Therefore your conscious mind is not going to wander to any part of your body while you are meditating.

 

Chapter 5:

Now before I go any further, you will find that whilst you are reading and studying this chapter, that I keep on repeating certain instructions where meditating on each of the chakra’s is concerned. This is not to fill up more space in this booklet, but to make sure that the instructions are completely impressed into your mind. I am not treating you as stupid, but because most people do not feel comfortable in the way that most instructions on the teaching of meditation is concerned. I prefer to teach you the way that I would like to be taught, and that is, like teaching a child. I have tried to make it easy and simple for all concerned. Because to teach me is like trying to teach a child.

 

Now we come to the guided meditation of your chakra’s, and you will start it in this way.

First you will concentrate on your base chakra. Now remember the position of the base chakra in the diagram of the first chakra. This chakra is at the base of the spine, and it has the color mixture of dark red and brown. Now for about the next two minutes I want you to first mentally focus on the position of the chakra and then on the color mixture of dark red and brown. Now breathe in this color and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. Let the color mixture of dark red and brown flow and move around in your mind, swirling like the clouds of smoke, moving and swirling and every now and again let the color pulsate. If the color mixture of dark red and brown starts to fade, then bring it back again. Whilst all this is going on, the tension that is around you will slowly dissipate away from your spine. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When you have done this then you will go to the second chakra which is the sacral (spleen) or sexual chakra which has the color of orange. Now for about the next two minutes I want you to first mentally focus on the position of the chakra, which is between the base of your spine and your naval, just above the sexual organs, and then onto the color of orange. Now breathe in the color of orange and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. Let the orange color move around as smoke does, moving and swirling around and allow it to pulsate every now and again. If the color fades then bring it back again. Whilst you are concentrating on this color, you will find that any sexual tension will slowly dissipate and your creativity will become more aware. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When you have done this, then go to the third chakra, which is the solar plexus chakra which has the color of yellow. For about the next two minutes mentally focus on the position of the chakra which is between your naval and your heart, and then on to the color of yellow. Now breathe in this color of yellow and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. Allowing the color to move around and swirl around, just like smoke, and allow it to pulsate every now and again. If the color fades then bring it back again. Whilst you are concentrating on this color, you will find that any tension that you have will slowly disappear which will also help you to control any trauma. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When this is done then you will go to the fourth chakra which is the heart chakra and has the color of rose pink. Again for about two minutes mentally focus on the chakra’s position which is where your heart is and then on to the color of rose pink. Now breathe in this color of rose pink and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. allowing the color to move around swirling just like the fine clouds of smoke and allow the color to pulsate occasionally. If the color fades then bring it back. Whilst you are concentrating on this color you will find that it will help where the pain of love is concerned and it will also encourage love of yourself and others as well. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When you have done this then you will go to the fifth chakra which is the throat chakra and has the color of blue. For about two minutes mentally focus on the position of the chakra which is situated at the base of the neck, and then on to the color of blue. Now breathe in this color of blue and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. Let the color move around in your mind as if it were smoke, swirling and moving and every now and then let the color pulsate. If the color fades then bring it back. Whilst you are concentrating on this color you will find that it will help in creating more energy in your physical body. Also encouraging you to express yourself more creatively. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When this is done then you will go to the sixth chakra, which is the third eye chakra and is the color of indigo (which is a mixture of blue and red) in other words a beautiful deep color of blue. Mentally focus on the position of the chakra which is situated between and slightly just above the two eyebrows, and then on to the color of indigo. Now breathe in this color of indigo and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. Let the color move and swirl around as if it were smoke and every now and again let the color pulsate. Do this for about two minutes and if it fades then bring it back again. Whilst you are concentrating on this color you will find that it will help to defuse stressful attitudes and also help with your spiritual awareness. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When this is done then you go to the seventh and last chakra, which is the crown chakra and has the color of violet. Now breathe in this color of violet and allow this color to completely take over your conscious mind. Again mentally focus on the position of the chakra which is on the crown of the head, (top of the head), and then on to the color of violet. Let the color move and swirl around as if it were smoke and every now and again let the color pulsate. Do this for about two minutes and if the color fades then bring it back. Whilst you are concentrating on this color, you will find that you will be connecting with your spiritual side of your life, whilst encouraging and bringing together all of your chakra centers. Remember allow the color to move around slowly like smoke, you will find that it is a lot easier than concentrating on a color that is stationary.

When you have done all this then you have one more thing to do, and that is to close your chakra’s and then ground yourself. This is done by mentally closing the chakra’s one by one, as if you were closing each draw in a chest of draws, one by one from the bottom to the top. When you have done this then you will say to yourself. "With my feet planted firmly on the ground I can see a beautiful golden beam coming out of each foot and going straight through to the center of the earth, keeping me grounded and connected and in balance. When you have done this then the meditation is finished and you can open up your eyes and become aware of your own surroundings.
